Turtle Talk: Together We Are Stronger

Why do people volunteer?

Some are looking for a way to make a difference. Some are looking for ways to shine. Some are looking for new friends or a way to feel part of a community.

All of these are excellent reasons to come out to our meeting this Friday!

Change your corner of the world and you change the world.

Personally, I enjoy volunteering so I can share my skills to make my community stronger for my children. I also want to set a good example for them about what it means to be a good citizen.

Even before becoming a parent, however, I always volunteered with environmental causes – specifically those relating to wildlife and wild places.

Meeting and working with like-minded people who have the best of intentions fills me with hope in a world so full of daunting problems to be solved.

Together we are stronger.

As we start this new venture to raise awareness of the plight of sea turtles along the white sugar sands of 30A, there is so much to do. Yet, we have already been overwhelmed by the support and interest from our friends and neighbors. Together, we can do this.

Sign up to volunteer today!

We need volunteers with expertise in curriculum creation, storytelling, fund raising, grant writing, nonprofit management, event planning, community outreach, graphic design, advertising, e-commerce, partnership creation — and so much more!

Do you feel drawn to sea turtles but can’t walk the beaches?

Do you love to plan events or design curriculum? Perhaps you shine best at connecting the dots between worthy causes and generous donors or community partners.

Maybe, you like to work behind the scenes creating amazing logistical plans and strategies for cause related merchandise or charity auctions.

Would you love to help us design materials and programs to educate about the importance of keeping the beaches clean, dark and flat?

Why reinvent the wheel? We all have expertise to share!

We need environmental educators. We need experienced sales people. We need lawyers and executives who can connect us with ideas and information outside of our general sphere of understanding.

We need fellow nonprofit professionals interested in collaborating to develop strategic plans, nature alliances, and funding sources interested in larger scale efforts.

Come learn more about our group and share your ideas. Take a leadership role, join a committee, or find a way to help from home.

If you feel drawn to the sea turtle cause, we know you have a talent to share.

We look forward to working with you!
